India Tour Packages from Canada
Canada sends a steady stream of visitors to India every year, from first-time travellers drawn to the Taj Mahal and the forts of Rajasthan to Indo-Canadian families coming back to see relatives and show their children where the family began. We plan private, chauffeur-driven trips for Canadian travellers, which means you get your own car and your own driver for the whole journey rather than a fixed group departure. The route is built around your dates, your pace and the places you actually want to see.
Flights from Canada to India
Toronto and Vancouver both have nonstop flights to Delhi that take roughly 14 hours. From Montreal, Calgary and other cities you usually connect through Europe or a Gulf hub such as Doha or Dubai, which adds a few hours to the total journey. Whichever routing you take, we plan a relaxed first day in India so you can recover from the flight before the sightseeing begins. India runs about ten to thirteen and a half hours ahead of Canadian time zones depending on your province, so the first day or two takes some adjustment.
Do Canadians need a visa for India?
Yes. Canadian passport holders need an Indian visa before they travel. Most visitors apply for an e-Tourist visa on the official Indian government portal, and approval usually comes within a few days. We can tell you which visa length fits your trip and point you to the correct website, though the application itself is something you complete yourself. It helps to apply a couple of weeks before you fly rather than at the last minute.
The best time to visit india from Canada:
For most of North India, including the Golden Triangle and Rajasthan, the comfortable season runs from October to March, when the weather is cooler and drier. This lines up with the Canadian autumn and winter, so it is a natural time to swap the cold at home for warm days and sightseeing. If you would rather travel in spring or summer, the Himalayan regions such as Ladakh, Sikkim and the hill stations are at their best from April to June, and we can plan around that instead.
How a private tour works with Driver India Private Tours:
On a private trip you keep the same car and the same English-speaking driver from the day you land to the day you leave. There is no joining a group and no handing over between cities. Your driver handles the roads, the parking and the local logistics, so you spend your energy on the places rather than the practicalities. We are a Government of India approved operator based in Delhi and have run private trips since 2013, and we stay reachable throughout your journey if anything needs adjusting along the way.
Popular routes for a first trip:
Most first-time visitors from Canada start with the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, which covers the Taj Mahal and the palaces of Rajasthan in a week or so. From there it is easy to add more of Rajasthan, the holy city of Varanasi, or the backwaters and beaches of Kerala in the south. If you have been to India before, we can plan something quieter, such as the tea hills of the northeast or the temples of Tamil Nadu. Tell us roughly how long you have and what you want from the trip, and we will shape a route to fit.
