Upon your arrival in Delhi, the bustling capital of India, you will be met by our driver and then transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have opportunities to relax or take a leisurely stroll around the neighbourhood. Settle in and prepare for your upcoming exploration of this vibrant city.
Commence your day with a guided tour of Delhi's highlights. Start the day with a visit to the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most magnificent piece of Mughal architecture in India. This is followed by the Jama Masjid-one of the largest mosques in the country. A rickshaw ride through 'Old' Delhi wafts you through the narrow, bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk. Later in the afternoon, make a trip to India Gate, and nearby, there is Rashtrapati Bhavan. Observe the architectural evolution of the Mughal Empire by first visiting Qutub Minar and then Humayun's Tomb. Later in the day, visit either Lotus Temple or Akshardham Temple-whichever attracts your attention.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Varanasi, one of the world's oldest living cities. Arrive at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, visit the Ghats of the Ganges to behold the magical Ganga Aarti, a spiritual ritual performed with fire and chants-a truly unforgettable experience.
Spend your day touring spiritual and historical Varanasi. Take an early morning boat ride on the Ganges, catching a surreal first glimpse of the ghats and temples of the city. Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Next to this temple stands the Gyanvyapi Mosque. Explore the narrow lanes of Varanasi flanked by ancient temples and bustling bazaars on either side. After lunch, take a trip to Sarnath, where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon.
Commence the day on a wonderful drive to Khajuraho, a city famous for its beautiful temples with explicit erotic sculptures. This will take about 6-7 hours and will give one a feel of rural India. On arrival, check into the hotel and spend the rest of the day in relaxation after the long drive.
Spend your day touring the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temples are famous for their complex erotic sculptures and come in three groups: Western, Eastern, and Southern. Tour the Western Group, which contains Kandariya Mahadev Temple and Lakshmana Temple. The other two groups-East and South-are equally fascinating yet different. In the evening, enjoy a light-and-sound show portraying the history of Khajuraho.
Early in the morning on day 7, drive to Bandhavgarh National Park. This usually takes about 5-6 hours. Upon arrival, check into your safari lodge and have some rest time. Bandhavgarh is one of the finest National Parks and the State Bird Sanctuary, known for its high density of tigers, thus, promising fun filled spots of wild life during your stay.
Enjoy a thrilling jeep safari in the Bandhavgarh National Park. Safaris are best done during early morning and late afternoon hours, which cover much of the wildlife sightseeing. While tigers are common, you will also be able to see leopards, deer, and various kinds of bird species. After the safari, head to the Bandhavgarh Fort for panoramic views of the park and surrounding area.
Afternoon drive to Kanha National Park, about 4-5 hours’ drive from there. Kanha is known for its rich fauna with its serene environs. Check into your hotel and relax. Sceneries are a blend of dense forests and grasslands that forms Kanha one of the best spots for wildlife sighting.
Full day safari in the Kanha National Park, home to the Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, and the rare Barasingha or swamp deer. Both the morning and evening safaris are excellent for animal spotting. The Kanha Museum in the park is worth a visit to garner more information on the local flora and fauna.
Start the long drive to Bhopal; it takes approximately 9-10 hours. Bhopal is the capital of Madhya Pradesh and is a city of lakes and heritage sites. On arrival, check-in at the hotel and take ample rest after the long journey.
After breakfast, proceed for a whole day excursion to Sanchi - an ancient town, which is about one-hour drive from Bhopal. Sanchi is basically famed for its Buddhist stupas and monolithic pillars. Later drive back to Bhopal and visit the various attractions of the city, which include Upper Lake, Lower Lake, and Bhimbetka Caves with ancient rock paintings.
Drive to Mandu, about 4 to 5 hours away. Historically, Mandu is a town of great ruins and has some amazing medieval architecture. Check into your hotel, and then take the evening to relax or wander around locally at leisure.
Spend the day exploring the ruins of Mandu, which include the Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal, and Rani Roopmati's Pavilion. Ancient palaces, mosques, and tombs set amidst lush landscapes dot the town. You could have a panoramic view of the town from Mandu Fort.
Drive to Ahmedabad, which would take around 6-7 hours. Ahmedabad is the largest city in Gujarat and has an enormous amount of rich cultural heritage along with historic landmarks. Arrive at your hotel and freshen up thereafter.
Discover Ahmedabad's glittering history and culture. Visit the Sabarmati Ashram, once the residence of Mahatma Gandhi, and study his part in India's independence. Take a glimpse into the historic Jumma Masjid, the stunning Sidi Sayyed Mosque, and the bustling local markets. Later in the afternoon, visit the Calico Museum of Textiles, a display of traditional and contemporary textile art.
Drive to Udaipur, which is around a 5-6-hour journey. Udaipur is popularly called the "City of Lakes" and has picture-postcard feel with its lakes side palaces. On arrival at the hotel, check-in and later spend the evening relaxing on Lake Pichola or shop in the local markets.
Spend the day sightseeing in the romantic city of Udaipur. See the City Palace with a panoramic background of Lake Pichola and fancily painted havelis all around. The Jagdish Temple has intricate carvings depicting various events from Vishnu's life. Go on a scenic drive around Fateh Sagar Lake. If time and energy permit, take an evening boat ride on Lake Pichola to see the Lake Palace and Jag Mandir. Evening at leisure - perhaps a Rajasthani traditional dinner.
Drive to Jaipur, which is about a 6 to 7-hour drive. Beautiful Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and presents a perfect blend of royal heritage and vibrant culture. On arrival, check-in into the hotel and unwind after a long journey.
The 'Pink City' of Jaipur shows its gems as you visit the major attractions of the city, including Amber Fort. You have an option for an elephant or jeep ride to go up to the fort. Afterwards, the City Palace will be visited because it contains a museum and serves as a private royal residence. You also catch a glimpse into the Hawa Mahal, commonly known as the Palace of Winds, and the Jantar Mantar, which is basically an astronomical observatory. Later in the evening, enjoy the local cuisine at one of Jaipur's well-known restaurants.
Early morning, drive towards Ranthambore National Park. It takes around 3-4 hours. Major attractions of this park are sightings of tigers and ruins from the past. Arrive and check-in to your Safari Lodge. Time to get excited for your upcoming wild adventure.
The richest wildlife parks in the world, enjoy morning and evening safaris at Ranthambore National Park, with good chances of spotting a Bengal tiger, leopards, and many species of deer. Enjoy panoramic views and the history of the Ranthambore Fort, atop a hill in the heart of the park.
After having breakfast, drive to Agra, and it would take around 5-6 hours of travel. The city is basically famous for housing the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. On arrival, check into the hotel, and if time allows, pay a sunset visit to Taj Mahal-a memory to cherish which would always remain alive in your minds about the architectural wonder of the world.
If not done previously, the last day is reserved for a morning visit to Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Later, drive to Delhi, which may take about 3-4 hours. If your flight permits, go for some last-minute shopping or sightseeing around Delhi before going to the airport.
