About New Delhi and Old Delhi

The Capital of Delhi has a big history of several empires. The earliest architectural relics date back to the Maurya Period(c. 300 BC); since then, Emperor Ashoka (273-236BC) was discovered near Srinivaspur. The famous Iron Pillar near the Qutub Minar was commissioned by the emperor. In 12 century Delhi had been the seat of Islamic and British rulers until India's independence in 1947. That time till to now Delhi divide in two part old Delhi and new Delhi. And Delhi was declared to be known as capital of India.

Delhi have many attraction and which you can visit. The capital has a rich history the city includes various forts and monuments. Jama Masjid is one of the beautiful places and is situated in the old city. It is also known as the biggest mosque in India. The mosque was built in time period of 13 years. The Lal Qila of Delhi the world heritage monument which is also known and called as the Red Fort is one of the tourists attraction integrated in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lal Qila was constructed by the ruler Shahjahan in the 1639 A.D.This monument is situated near the ghats of Yamuna River. It is one of the most significant and famous work with the combination of Indian, European and Persian art form. Humayun's tomb was built in the year1570.It looks like the Taj Mahal which is situated in Agra.One of the reasons that it looks like the Taj Mahalis that it is inspired by it. It was the first type of Mughal architecture that was made in India. The tomb was built by instructions of Humayun's widow Hamida Banu Begum. Qutub Minar is the place which cannot be left without visited on your Delhi tour. It is the biggest brick minaret in the entire world. The architect ture of this famous monument includes the mixture of Indo-Islamic structural design. It is located in south Delhi.The monument is 72.5 meters high and it also has 399 steps which will take you to the top of the Minar. The pillars of Qutub Minar are 7 meters high and they weigh more than six tons. Delhi has also got beautiful gardens like Lodi gardens and beautiful Hindu temples like Akshardham temple, Iskcon temple and many other attractions .Chattarpur Temple Laxmi Narayan Temple.Purana Qila.
