About Bundi

Bundi is a small town 36 KM from Kota in Rajasthan. This place is surrounded by Aravalli hills by three sides and it is also designed with four massive walls with four gateways. This town is well known for forts, havelis, palaces as well as idols of stone. A part from this Bundi is also well known for elaborated murals as well as sculptures.

Havelis are also main attraction of Bundi when you are in old area it look like you are in town of havelis and some of them are Sukh Mahal, Rani Ji Ki Baori, Badal Mahal, Ratan Daulat and Chatarmal. Chatarmal, Badal Mahal and Ratan Dualat are known for their paintings as well as murals. Sukh Mahal was built through Rao Raja Vishnu and it retrieves history in it. Another thing that will grab tourist to this Mahal is the underground tunnel that passes through Sukh Mahal to Taragarh Fort. Baori comprises of beautifully carved panels of Dasha Avtar and apart form this there are wonderfully designed steps. Bundi durg is a must see attraction of Bundi that was constructed by Roa Raja Bar Singh in the year 1411. This Bundi durg is also referred to as star fort. It is one of the forts that are very beautiful as well as distinctively constructed. Bundi is considered as rich in painting and this is very clear by visiting Chitrashala. The paintings are very colorful and it is the main attraction of tourists there. The walls of pavilion are well decorated with paintings that involve the scenes of Ragmala as well as Ralila. The two picnic spots of Bundi are Shikar Burj and Jait Sgar Lake which was built by Jaita Meena. Apart from this worth visiting attractions are Sriti Kunj and Terrace Garden. Bundi Fair is also one of the attractions at the time of September or November. This is referred to as Tejaji Fair and Kshav Rai Patan Fair.
