About Jodhpur

Jodhpur other famous name is 'Sun city' is the second largest city of Rajasthan state of India. The name Sun City is given to Jodhpur as the weather here is always very sunny and bright for 365 days. Jodhpur is a very popular destination amongst the tourist because of its scenic and exquisite beauty and lies in the center of Rajasthan.

Mehrangarh Fort:This is one of the forts that is five kilometers long and situated on the hill top. This is actually one of the interesting as well as stunning fort to see. This fort comprises of four gates and comprises of splendid palaces. Umaid Bhawan Palace:This is actually the palace of twentieth century which was constructed under the famine relief project which provide d employment to famine struck population.

Jaswant Thada:This was developed under the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II and it is the collection of royal cenotaphs constructed with white marbles. This gives an essence of various Jodhpur rulers.

Umeed garden:It is built by Maharaja Umeed Singh and it is around eighty two achers of land. This garden comprises of ashoka trees, roses,seasonal flowers, museum, fountains, library as well as zoo where in you will be able to see various kinds of animals as well as birds. Clock tower and Sardar Market:This is one of the major attractions of Jodhpur. This is the market that sells antique, textiles,silverware as well as handicrafts.

Raj Ranchhodji temple:This is the temple that is made up of red sand stone and it is carved through stunning filigree work.In the middle of the temple there is a statue of Ranchhod ji which is made up of black marble. It was built by queen Jadechi Rajkanwar in the memory of King Jaswanth Singh her husband. Other attractions of Jodhpur are Achal Nath Shivalaya, Ganesh Temple as well as Siddhnath Shiv temple.
